Terms & conditions for the Ear 2 Beer iPad mini 3 competition

  • The competition is open to malting barley farmers in England, Scotland and Wales.
  • Entry to the iPad mini 3 competition opens on 31st March 2015 and closes at 4pm on 31st August 2015.
  • Entry to the competition is online only via the BASF Ear 2 Beer website.
  • The winner will be selected from online entries on 1st September 2015 and will be notified by email thereafter. The winner will be chosen based on the quality and consistency of their seed to harvest postings.
  • Only postings relating to malting barley treated with Adexar or another xemium containing product (i.e. Ceriax, Imtrex, Librax, Pexan and Vortex) are eligible.
  • BASF reserve the right to request sight and/or copies of field records to check proof of application of Adexar or another xemium containing product to malting barley by the entrant.
  • The prize: one iPad mini 3 WiFi + cellular worth £499.
  • In the event of a dispute, the promoter (BASF plc, Crop Protection of Earl Road, Cheadle Hulme, Cheadle, SK8 6QG) is sole arbiter and its decision is final and binding. No correspondence will be entered into.
  • No other alternative prize or cash alternative will be available.
  • By entering this competition you agree that BASF can use any blogs, posts, updates, opinions, photos and your name, address and photograph for publicity purposes.
  • By entering the competition you are deemed to have accepted these terms and conditions. BASF reserve the right to amend these terms and conditions.

Terms & conditions for the Ear 2 Beer competition

  • The competition is open to all malting barley farmers in England, Wales and Scotland.
  • Entry to the competition opens on 31st March 2015 and closes at 4pm on 31st July 2015.
  • All online competition entry forms must be completed in full to be valid for entry into the competition. Entry to the competition is online only.
  • Finalists will be selected from online entries on 1st August 2015 and will be notified thereafter. The finalists will be chosen based on the quality of their completed entry forms.
  • Finalists will be notified by email that they been selected and will be sent a pre-paid grain sample bag which they are to fill with 0.5 kg of malting barley grain and send on to Crisp Malting for judging. Only malting barley samples of winter barley or spring barley will be accepted. Only malting barley treated with Adexar or another xemium containing product (i.e. Ceriax, Imtrex, Librax, Pexan and Vortex) is eligible.
  • BASF reserve the right to request sight and/or copies of field records to check proof of application of Adexar or another xemium containing product to the malting barley submitted.
  • Crisp Malting will select 3 winning samples from the samples sent in. Winning samples will be selected because they are considered to be the samples which best meet the specification for malting barley into beer. This decision will be made at the sole discretion of Crisp Malting.
  • The 3 winning farmers will each be required to submit a 60 kg quantity of grain to Crisp Malting at Gt. Ryburgh in Norfolk for processing into malt. The cost of delivery of the grain, malting, production and bottling will be organised and paid for by BASF. Farmers will be reimbursed the value of their 60 kg of grain according to the grain price as at 1 August 2015 or the agreed grain price set out in the contract under which they are growing.
  • The prize: The 3 winning farmers will each receive 250 bottles of premium ale based on the blend of malted grain recipe agreed between BASF and Beeston Brewery. Each winning farmer will be able to name the beer and design the label to be printed on their beer bottles, in liaison with BASF and Beeston Brewery. BASF reserves the right to reject any name or design it deems, in its sole discretion, to be offensive or inappropriate.
  • The 3 winning farmers will be invited on a day trip to Crisp Malting’s floor malting at Gt Ryburgh to see the malting process. The tour will continue on to Beeston Brewery where farmers can get involved with the brewing of their own beer. This will be organised and paid for by BASF.
  • BASF accepts no liability for accidents, injuries, losses or unforeseen events that may occur in entering this competition, collecting or dispatching grain samples.
  • In the event of a dispute, the promoter (BASF plc, Crop Protection of Earl Road, Cheadle Hulme, Cheadle, SK8 6QG) is sole arbiter and its decision is final and binding. No correspondence will be entered into.
  • No other alternative prize or cash alternative will be available.
  • By entering this competition you agree that BASF can use your competition entry form for publicity purposes, and, in the event you are one of the three winners, agree that BASF can use your name, address and photograph for publicity purposes.
  • By entering the competition it is deemed to be acceptance of these terms and conditions. BASF reserve the right to amend these terms and conditions.
